I have been an art teacher in public schools for 25
years and have enjoyed making and teaching art for as
long as I can remember.
The Hill Country called to me from my first visit in
1978 when I came to a summer class at the Texas Tech
campus in Junction, Texas. After many happy summer
classes there making art surrounded by beautiful
scenery, I knew I would one day retire somewhere in this
area ... and here I am!
My art is a combination of several of my loves:
photography, collage, paint and digital imagery. I
believe that art is like a mirror. It often shows to the
viewers that which is hidden from ourselves.
My interest presently is exploring the relationships
between our personal guides and the world around us ...
the reasons why we choose the images we choose ... why
we notice certain things. The art is my way of
understanding.
Textures, colors, patterns and shapes all have meanings
and there is a universal oneness that speaks the same
language to us all ... if we choose to listen.
